hotels near Shinjuku

We are visiting family in Japan and trying to find a reasonable hotel near Shinjuku. (They live in Kyodo so we want to be nearby). The ones I've seen are pretty expensive. Any suggestions appreciated.

I usually stay at New City hotel myself as I enjoy the
park next door in the mornings.
Try some of the following
to get ideas and maps etc then book yourself.

Also the "JNTO" site can offer advice to.
Then there is Kadoya hotel which I am thinking of trying next year which may be
close to what you want to.
Just google it.
There are at least 10 hotels
wthin 10 - 15 minutes walk
depending on your price range to pick from.

We booked at Keio Plaza directly by phone and got a better rate than anything I found on the internet - with breakfast thrown in.

But the Kadoya hotel looks int'g too so may look into that too as a money saving option.
