12-14 days to Japan 2008/2/10 20:00
We are planning to start in Tokyo and stay there either at the beginning or the end of the tour 2-3 days. Continue to Nagano, visit Matsumoto Castle, Takayama, take a day trip to Ogimachi, Suganuma and Ainokura. Need help to find the right city to stay and from there visit the sights in Central Honshu. Also want to go to Kanasawa not sure yet. After that go to Kyoto (spend 2-3 days there) and visit Osaka and Nara. Can we do it staying in Kyoto? Uji is an option but donft know if we can do it. And go back to Tokyo through Hakone to see the Mount Fuji. Does it seem too much for 12-14 days? First time in Japan and never traveled by bullet trains.

If you hurry, you could pack these destinations into about 15 days.

Osaka and Nara can be reached from Kyoto Station in less than an hour. So yes, they can be easily visited in side trips from Kyoto.
