How can I reserve a seat for Aoi Festival this May? What is cost? Is it more than one day? Thank you.

Aoi Festival is 1 day only. Though 2008 info is not yet available, tickets were sold at the following places in 2007. Aoi Festival 2007 Ticket sales started from April 5th at Tourist Information Centers (81-75-343-6655, 81-75-752-0227) and the wepsite.( http://www.kyokanko.or.jp) Price was 2000 yen per a seat. To be honest, however, even without a seat, you can enjoy seeing a parade...

I appreciate this information. Now I know it may not be necessary to reserve a seat. Still, where's the best viewing places? At beginning near gate or where the dance performances take place near stage? Or does it matter at all? Again, arigato.
