Romantic train on 12 April is closed? 2008/3/3 16:10
I have read from http://www.sagano-kanko.co.jp/eng/index.htm ,Itsaid that

Full Operation Trams are as follows
œMarch 25 - April 7
œApril 29 - May 5
œJuly 21 - August 31
œOctober 15 - November 30

But my plan to Arashiyama is on 12 April so this is means the romantic train is closed on 12 April? And How about Hozu River boat tour? Is it worth to visit there in that time?

Sagano Sightseeing Train 2008/3/3 16:55
Kim,

That page is as good as useless, isn't it.
According to the Japanese page, the train runs as normal on that day.

Sagano Sightseeing Train 2008/3/3 18:48
Kim,

what is green circle date mean?

The green circle indicates dates on which there is an extra early morning run (in Golden Week and the autumn seasons). The train runs normally on all days except those with a red cross.

Directions 2008/3/19 15:29
Hi, 2 questions regarding the Sagano Scenic Railway.

1) I visited the English website and it says that Timetable changes from 18 Mar. But till today, I din see any changes in timing.

2) I will be alighting at JR Umahori station and boarding the Scenic Railway from Kameoka Torokko Station. It says a 10min walk. Is there direction signs pointing which way should I walk when I come out of JR Umahori Station? Is it easy to find my way around there?
