How to get around Hakone? 2008/3/4 11:15
Hi, I booked an one night stay in Hakone Prince hotel. However, i am not familiar with the location of Hakone Prince. How do i get ard Hakone from the Hotel? I would like to visit Lake Aishi. Other than that, is there other nice places to visit in Hakone? N how do i get to there from Hakone Prince?

The Prince Hotel is located at the eastern coast of Lake Ashi, close to Hakone-en. See the following map:

The easiest way to get there is to use Izuhakone buses or the Izuhakone boat, but these are not covered by the popular Hakone Free Pass.

If you intend to use the Hakone Free Pass, you can access the hotel by the Odakyu Hakone Highway Bus from Togendai or pay extra for a Izuhakone bus or boat.

Thanks! The F&E package i booked includes a round trip shinkansen ticket to Odawara. So i guess it is not worthwhile for me to buy a Hakone Free Pass?

Is there any nice places of attractions that you can recommend? I will be spending 2 day, 1 night in Hakone.

Why not? Odawara is located only at the entrance of Hakone. To get around Hakone, a Hakone Free Pass would still be a good option. You can buy it at Odawara Station for use from Odawara Sattion (not including a round trip from Tokyo):
