I think you need to split up into several groups. This underground shopping mall has a dozen of eating places, including Japanese, western and Chinese. I am not sure if they have English menu but most of them have a display in the window to make it easy for you to order.

Subnade shopping mall : http://www.subnade.co.jp/index2.html (click English at the bottom)

you lots and lots of fast food in the shopping areas. students usually go for that. lots of cheap noodle places also. Yoshinoya is always good ad cheap,(better than burgers) You won't have a problem finding someplace to eat in Shinjuku. The hard part will be finding everyone after they go off to eat. :)

Yoshinoya is horrible. Sukiya is so much better.

You can get a big bowl of soup, a salad and gyudon or curry for about 5 bucks.
