I am about to come back to Japan for a short time; please advise of the best (expences are of no importance) ryokan with rotenburo or similar for total experience. My favourite is gunma osenkaku

Well, I was gonna recommend Onsenkaku but it seems it's already your favorite.

How about Kusatsu? Sainoyu is a public rotenburo there that is one of my favorites.
