Can my girl live in Japan with me?

My girl is from Australia and plans to moved in with me here in Japan at the end of the year. I am in the military and we plan on getting married also. She will be here for 3 months because of her visa. Once we are married will she be able to stay here with me past her 3 months or will she have to go back?

If you get married she would then have to apply for SOFA Status as your spouse. Since SOFA status is handled through the US government and not Japanese Immigration, she might have to leave Japan for a bit and re-enter in Japan under SOFA status.

I don't think she can do the standard "change in status" at Immigration Office (again because SOFA isn't handled through Japanese Immigration), but rather the US Military.
