Hello What is are the differences and common points between the Pasmo and Suica card? I need a card for the subway/underground in Tokyo. Is the Suica card suitable for this? Many thanks

For the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, they are essentially the same exact thing. You can use Suica where Pasmo is accepted and Vice-Versa.
Suica is sold by JR East and Pasmo pretty much sold by the rest.
The difference comes when using it on networks out in the Osaka/Kansai area, which in really doesn't matter much for the Tokyo Metropolitan area.

Amanda,
What is are the differences and common points between the Pasmo and Suica card?
Both are basically the same, but Suica can be used in other parts of the country, where Pasmo can't.
I need a card for the subway/underground in Tokyo. Is the Suica card suitable for this?
Yes.
