I would like to know if there are any 24 hours post office in japan. My friend told me that some are open 24x7 but I cant find them on the post office website.

Yes in some major areas in Tokyo there are 24 hour post offices.
Depends on where your location is if you're looking for one.

Hi The post office near JR Osaka is open 24/7 and I went there at 5 am one day to prove it to myself. Sure enough it was open. Kiwi

As far as I know most "Chuo Yubinkyoku (central post offices)" will accept your mail and parcels 24/7.
Post offices are broken down into districts and there is one central office in each district. Just ask your local post office or post man where the nearest "chuo yubinkyoku" is or simply look it up. There is a name of the district at the top (ie. Kanagawa Chuo Yubinkyoku, Osaka Chuo Yubinkyoku etc.).
