I will be travelling to Tokyo in early April by myself. I would like to make a day trip to places with hot spring. Is it easy for me try a hot spring bath for a few hours there?

Yes. For example in Hakone, many ryokan offer day-use of onsen, sometimes with lunch. It would be better to go there on weekdays as some ryokan ban the use of non-staying guests on weekends.
