May I ask, if anyone would know the approximate taxi cost:
from Kyoto Station - Gion or from Kyoto Station - Marayuma Park
we are travelling 2 of us, and just wondering if we should catch the bus, or just take a taxi for convenience.
also, I will be staying in Oohara for one night in April. Does anyone know what time the busses from Kyoto - Oohara (vice versa) run until?
many thanks for your answers. I can't wait to travel.

From Kyoto to Oohara, 20:15 From Oohara to Kyoto, 19:00 But, there're other ways to come back to Kyoto station. You can take a bus to Kokusaikaikan (21:25 is the final)and switch to the subway.

you can pick up bus schedules at Kyoto station at the information office. They are fairly easy to read. (kind of like a cartoon map of Kyoto) It list bus numbers and routes they travel. They go pretty much everywhere in Kyoto.
