For the top two, I suppose you are looking for a more biological name than the common "tulip" or "cosmos" that we locals use, right?

The third one looks like a Kinsenka which we locals also call Marigold.

I think it is called Kibana-cosmos. (Literal meaning is yellow cosmos)

(Its scientific name is Cosmos sulphureus. Some websites say its English common name is orange cosomos.)

You're great always offering help, but I'm afraid when we say "Marigold", it refers to different flowers from Kinsenka.

The tulip looks similar to "Tulipa cv. Monalisa"

what people call 2008/3/12 21:27
To . , yes, but my Kenkyusha dictionary gives me "calendula; a pot marigold" for "kinsenka" and I also recall seeing the flower in the OP's photo at gardening shops all the time with the label "marigold".

Shop labels are probably not always accurate, which was the reason I wanted to make sure the OP was looking for scientific terms than the "so-called" terms.

Many thanks for your explanation.
Maybe it's my ignorance but I myself have never seen that flower called/labeled "Marigold" and "kinsenka" and "mariigoorudo" in Japanese are totally different flowers, so I still don't think it is very common.
Anyway, here's the scientific name for each, so that OP can see what is "generally" called what. ;)

Kinsenka (which is the same kind of flowers as the OP's photo/Calendula)
