Paying for Hotels in Advance? 2008/3/17 05:13
Hi everyone,

after going through a bit of research for my trip to Japan using this website, I've decided it will be best to book my hotels in advance from my home country in Australia, I'm planning to stay in Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka.

I was wondering, when you make a reservation in advance in Australia, is it also possible to pay for the hotel in advance? I like the idea of having everything taken care of before I leave.

I found this website

http://www.japantravel.com.au/ which looks like it might be of assistance.

If anyone has any other advice it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance (no pun intended :P)

You have two choices: Book with a travelagent in Australia, you pay in advance and in Australian Dollar, a voucher is your receipt and checks you in. No payment locally in Japanese Yen.
You book direct with the hotel online/fax, your credit card will be charged in Japanese Yen, normally not earlier but at check in.
