Where to see shibazakura ( pink moss ) 2008/3/18 20:50
I plan to go to Tokyo & Sapporo during May 10-19 ,2008 but it take times (almost 4 hours from Sapporo)to go to takinoue park to see pink moss .Another place is Hitsujiyama Koen in Chibu, Saitama .
Does anyone have an idea where is worth to go ?
If I decide to go to Chibu in mid of May, Is it possible to see them ? When it closed ?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion

At Hitsujiyama Koen in Chichibu, Saitama, the peak seems to be from middle of April to early May (at least looking at the photos from the past few years), so that past May 6th, 8th, you would not be able to see full beauty.

The one in Yamanashi prefecture (the first link suggested by Jennifer Green) seems to be better in terms of timing for you. During the pink moss festival (April 25 to June 1), they have direct bus service going to the park from Shinjuku station in Tokyo, or if you are in Lake Kawaguchi area, there will be shuttle bus going to the park from there as well.
