Language course in Tokyo 2008/3/31 02:48
Hello,
I'm currently looking for a language course in Tokyo, and it must last 4 weeks.
For accommodation I already know a family over there, who I can stay with. So the only thing I really need is a language school.
I'm 17 years old, a beginner and I'd prefer the school to be near Gotanda.

Any links or advice are very welcome!

Many language schools offer (1) 1-year, (2) 2-year, or (3) 4-week or 8-week intensive courses during summer. Something like this:

I know a few people who attended this school's long-term course and are now quite fluent speakers of Japanese. In terms of location, Shibuya is only a few stations from Gotanda.

Inter-cultural Institute of Tokyo 2008/4/27 01:22
Hello,
In July 2009 I've planned to participate in a Japanese language course for 4 weeks. I've been searching around for some schools, and I've found one called 'Inter-cultural Institute of Tokyo'.
Now I just want to know - does anybody know this school? If so, is it any good?

Also, do you have any tips concerning a language course in Japan? Like, what is wise to bring with you etc.?

About language schools.. 2008/4/27 23:44
one thing to note is that while studying in Tokyo might be considered fun from the sightseeing perspective, I preferred doing it bit farther off - cheaper, easier to focus on studies, and more nature.

To be more precise, I recommend Yamasa ( http://www.yamasa.org ) in Okazaki near Nagoya. Not that my studies in Tokyo were that bad either, but just living and the rest were much more expensive..
