Tōkai-Tōsan dialect? 2008/4/6 03:08
Hello all,
I was just wondering if anyone has any information on the Tōkai-Tōsan accent/dialect, specifically the Nagano variation. Since I'm planning to visit Nagano, I'd quite like to understand what everyone around me will be saying, since I'm currently only learning standard hyōjungo accent.

Thanks in advance!

Don't worry about it. 2008/4/9 12:53
私は長野県のとなりの山梨県出身です。標準語で助ェ通じますし、長野の人にはあまりなまりはないと思います。
If you can't understand it, let me know. I will try to translate it.

Thanks a lot, isgk.(I hope I understand ^_^)

I guess I should just study the "standard" Japanese... I was probably over-reacting. I know how hard it is for gaijin to understand some accents, such as Kansai and Hokkaido.

Some of my friends have had embarrassing experiences; thinking they know the language, and then winding up lost. It's made me somewhat paranoid, I guess.

Thanks again!
