Hi folks!
It's round two in Japan for me and I want to seee some places I missed first time round.
Is it better to take a guided tour of Kamakura, or just get around myself. I'm pretty good at navigating so getting lost isn't too much of problem. It would be a daytrip from Tokyo.
Any idea how long I should spend? half day, full day? All advice greatly appreciated.

Yes you can do it by yourself. By train to Kita-Kamakura, 60 min from Tokyo, walk along the temples to Kamakura, train/bus and walk to the Great Buddha and Hasedera temple this is minimum halfday. If you add the island Enoshima it is a full day visit. See also under this japan-guide: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3115.html
