Hi folks!
I am planning a daytrip to Kamakura but it's during the tsuyu (late June- mid July), meaning I have made a dry weather plan and a wet weather plan. Can I ask if someone in the know can review it for me?
For the Dry route, I will 1. get off at Kita Kamakura, then visit Engaku-ji. 2. Next to Jochi-ji. 3. Walk the Daibutsu Hiking course to the Great Buddha, stopping for the Zeniarai-Benten and Sasuke-inari jinja. 4. Walk to Hase-dera. 5. Walk to Yuigahama. 6. Catch the train from Hase station to Kamakura JR. 7. A spot of shopping on Wakamiya-Oji.
WET COURSE.
1. Off at Kita Kamakura, 2. Engaku-ji 3. Jochi-ji 4. Kamakura Station 5. Bus to The Great Buddha. 6. A bit of shopping on Wakamiya-Oji.
Are both of these realistic?
Will it be too hot to do the Daibutsu hiking course in July?
Thanks folks!

Both are realistic. July is high humidity and 30 degree Celcius, but walking the whole day is doable. Drink sufficient bottled water.

I have done your dry course before several times and can tell you it is tiring- especially in the summer. You might find yourself wanting to skip Yuigahama and just take the Enoden line back from the Daibutsu to the station area.

Thanks for your help, sometimes it's hard to tell how much you're trying to jam in! : )
Thanks!
