Horses/biking tours in Japan

Hi,
Me and my friend are planning to travel to Japan spring 09. We'd like to try to live at the countryside somewhere, and wondering if you guys know about any place where there is riding horse tour or renting a bike? Experiencing Japan from a horseback or biking in the natural scenery if something we both like to try.

Horseback-riding is not commonly done in Japan, and I'm not sure if the few available ones represent "the natural scenery" of Japan. But one of the closest resorts to say Tokyo that have both horses and bikes is Nasu.
