Place to stay in Kyoto near JR station

Anyone has recommendation for a place to stay in kyoto, private bathroom, within walking distance from Kyoto JR station within budget of JPY4000 per person?

click on Kyoto then station area. yen 4000 per person is possible but tight for 2 people. For 1 it will likely be with a shared bath. In addition these cheaper places have few rooms and may be booked a couple of months in advance.

It's a very small, business hotel, just a 10 minute walk north of JR Kyoto station. You could also take the Karasuma subway up to Gojo station (it's only one station away) and use the #8 exit, and the hotel will be right in front of you.

It costs roughly around 9000 yen for a 2-person room and it comes with one Semi-double bed and one loft style single-sized bed.

I've never stayed there before but I'm planning on staying there on my upcoming trip in a few weeks. I can provide you a review of the hotel when I get back.

There's another hotel called Kyoto Garden Hotel, it's not within walking distance of JR Kyoto station but it's not a far subway ride away (less than 10 minutes, by my estimation).

The prices are phenomenal, as they are having a special right now. You can get a double room for 7350 yen or a twin room for 9450 yen.

Vacancies are really limited at this hotel, though.
