I had read somewhere about a couple of garlic-themed restaurants in the Tokyo or Kyoto areas, but I can't find anything online. A search through here didn't bring anything up, and this was where I thought I found it. (Which means it might have been in a book.) Anyone know more about this? I'd really love to go to one, and my trip is in 5 days.

there's a garlic themed restuarant that i love going to for lunch. it's located in sibuya, right across from the 109 in a place called "gourmet town."
it's in the building located between the mizuho bank and matumoto kiyosi. i think it's on the 8th(?) floor. like most restuarants, lunch i the best time to go because of the awesome deals for a full meal. i like their garlic beef lunch special which comes with a drink and desert for about 1500yen. try the melon soda float too mmmm.
i also recommend gourment town's "ochanoma" (6th floor- try their gyuuyakiniku lunch special- it's SO good!) and also the chinese restaurant (6th floor).

That beef special sounds great, I think that is definitely the place I'll try to find. Thanks for the tip!

I just went to the Ninniku in Ikebukuro today, it was great! I got the steak strip plate and my friend got something with shrimp, cream, and noodles. Both of them were amazing. (I tried some of his.)
I managed to find the building only because I remembered the word PARCO--which happens to be right next to the Ikebukuro train station. Sure enough I saw the hiragana for the name on the sign.
Thanks again for the directions!
