That, to me at least, isn't legible. I can't even be sure it's Japanese. If it is, it is not well written.

One of the Japanese people might be able to make sense of it...

I agree with Sira, if it is Japanese, it sure isn't well written... I *could* make out the kanji @ and if I squint my eyes and use my imagination to its best (which put together means "method"), but the top one is simply not legible.

I actually wondered if the first kanji was , nishi, but it's kind of incomplete. It could be, though.

My Japanese wife has no idea what it reads, so my vote is for no meaning (in Japanese at least).

Maybe your wife couldn't read it because lj is a way of writing that is hardly used in Japan today to mean "Spain". I didn't even recognize they were proper letters until Meringue suggested it.
