Hi,
I will be travelling to Thailand in August, and after travelling to Japan. I may have to travel between the two countries later next year.
I have a multi entrance Thai visa (so can go back and forward from Japan to Thailand), however I am wondering what I need to do to be able to re enter Japan if I go to Thailand? I will be applying for a working holiday visa (I am UK) soon, however, do I need to apply for a special type of visa at the embassy to be able to travel out of Japan and back in? Or is that something I do before I leave Japan, in terms of getting some kind of re entry document.

Ben, in Japan it is called a Re-entry permit.
You get it AFTER you arrive in (or already in) Japan with your Working Holiday Visa.
It is not something you apply before you enter Japan or get your visa.
