Is it hayaikaze or hayakaze? The net claims both as ''swiftwind''. Also, how do you pronounce hayai (swift)? Is it hah-yi or hah-ya?

Rob,
While "swiftwind" is not a word in my dictionary, either, I suspect what you are after is "hayate" (疾風).
Also, how do you pronounce hayai (swift)? Is it hah-yi or hah-ya?
Neither. It's pronounced "ha - ya - i".

Thank you for the response. I have a few more questions I need answered real quick.
1. What does Ryudou mean? 2. What does Kazemoto mean? 3. Is there one word that best describes a ''violent wind''?
I'm trying to think of some names for my pets. I have one dog already named ''Yojimbo'' after the Kurosawa film.
