Recently my parents sent me a package from the US to my living address here in Japan. Unfortunately, they left out the zipcode. All of the rest of the address was correct, so I believe it at least made it to Japan. I was wondering if anyone knows what to do in this kind of situation. I'm assuming that they have some place where they dump the lost mail. Any one know if I might be able to get these packages eventually?

it will be returned to them as long as they included a return address.
if they didn't, you may never see that piece of mail again. i don't know of any central mail holding facility and even if there were i think it might be very very difficult to track it down.
more likely than not it's already on its way back to the US.

I suppose you have your name on your mail box and you've already inquired post offices in both Japan and the U.S. Then all you can do is to do what they told you to do.

Even without the zip/postal code, if your parents had written the full address (including the prefecture, city name, preferably with the apartment building name), mail will be delivered to you. I hope you have your name on your mailbox.
If it is taking longer than it should, ask at the local post office (nearest your home), then they will be able to direct to you to the central delivery post office in your area, which takes care of re-delivery or inquiries. Give them your full address, the sender's name and address, the type of mail (letter or package - regular air mail or express, etc.), the date it was sent out, etc. They will get back to you somehow.
