I take pain meds for pinch nerve 2008/9/28 23:34
I just saw a post where Japanese custom won't allow codeine! I take it and Valium for a pinched nerve in my neck and plan to take prednisone as well in case of a bad flare-up (all these meds will be in bottles with my name on it). I need these-is there something I need from a doctor that will allow these to go through custom?

As far as I know, if something is banned, it's banned, it doesn't matter if you need it or not. Is there something different your doctor can prescribe you temporarily?

Don't try to sneak banned medication past Customs obviously as you risk having it all confiscated and then having nothing for your pinched nerve.

For the official view, definitely ask the Embassy about that too.

No problem 2008/10/15 02:26
Get a note from your doctor saying he perscribed it. They won't give you a problem. Just don't tell them unless asked. I never had a problem.
