Teaching Guitar and Visa 2008/10/28 02:04
Hi There,

Does anyone know what visa I need to teaching the violin or guitar in Japan. I have a job offer at a private music school. It seems to be the humanities visa, but I just want to make sure I'm safe.

Thanks!

Steve,

Yes, I imagine it would be a "Specialist in Humanities & International Services Visa", but it is actually your employer (the school) that will arrange it for you, so I don't think there is any need for you to be overly worried about the exact visa category. You should be more concerned about whether they are willing to sponsor you and whether you qualify for a visa.
