I'm making takoyaki & have bought raw tako. How and for how long should I cook it before I make takoyaki?

It depends on the size of your tako. See here http://www.ehow.com/how_2083969_boil-octopus.html

I went to buy raw tako, but when I saw it I chickened out & bought already cooked pieces.....maybe next time I'll be more brave!

Octopus is hard to find in many parts of the States. We use squid & make "ika-yaki" instead. It tastes just as good and squid is a lot more easy to find.

I live in Australia and octopus is easy to find. Maybe I'll try ika-yaki sometime anyqay.

Have you tried BCC-yaki? Banana-choc-chip-yaki....very delicious!
