Moving with a small dog

My husband and I are moving to Yokosuka in a few months. We have a small dog and we have heard that it is really hard to find a house or apartment to rent if you own a dog. I was wondering if there is anyone who knows any landlords in the Yokosuka area that will accept small dogs. We are hoping to rent out a two bedroom house. The dog might have to stay in quarantine for a while, can anyone tell me where we can board her. Would really appreciate the help we don't have a lot of time left....

It is true that the choice of house or apartment to rent gets restricted when you live with dogs, but I don't think it is so difficult as you are worrying.
For example, I tried now an online rent-room query offered by estate agencies, and it showed about eighty rooms out of about one thousand options are accepting living with pet animals with agreement beforehand. Although this might only means you can live with much smaller pet animals such as hamsters, this is a number far greater than the choice of rooms which are fully sound-proof for practicing music instruments (only two out of one thousand).
So don't be too pessimistic and just ask the estate agency about living with your dog. I'm sure they can show you some possible options for they are professionals, and it would be much more down to earth than looking for someone here who knows a kind landlord living in Yokosuka.
