Has anyone heard of Shimane University, and does anyone know how difficult it would be to get accepted into Shimane?

For it is a national university with a name of prefecture,
I think many Japanese know its name but have no idea of its special trait.
I googled its "Hensachi" or the index of difficulty to enter,
and found it to be of average level,
except its faculty of medicine have much higher competition rate is difficult to enter.
Due to its geological location, which is far away from Tokyo and Osaka area,
I think only those living near by think of entering that university.
