Lunch in Asakusa? 2009/1/27 09:00
Hi.
Could someone recommend a good place for lunch in Asakusa?
(Sukiyaki, Sushi or Yakitori)
Preferable someplace not too far away from Senso-ji.
Thank you.

Asakusa is famous for tempura, there are many tempura and some famous ones that line up right near Sensoji. I would browse and let your nose take you to a place.

Well, maybe i'll do just that - browse around :-) Anyway, the reason i put Sukiyaki on top of my list is because, its one of the classic japanese dishes i had trouble finding the last time i was there. (tempura and sushi is about everywhere in comparisson)
Thanks for the advice ;-)

Here is the best Sukiyaki restaurant at Asakusa.

Enjoy!

bento picnic 2009/1/29 21:20
If it's a nice day and you visit Asakusa in the morning, you could pick up a bento lunch from the basement floor of Matsuzakaya dept. store and take it with you on the ferry down the Sumidagawa River to Hamarikyu Garden. After having your picnic in the garden, you stroll down to Tsukiji Marketplace to see what's on special. Then walk over to Ginza and do some shopping/sightseeing.
