opening a shop on train stations? 2009/2/24 21:40
i want to open a small shop inside a train station, for example in ikebukuro.

Does anyone know where i can find details, about the rent of a small space on a train station?

approximately, how do you think does it cost a day or a month?

thank you

first of all
are you japanese?
or married to a japanese?
or naturalized to japanese citizenship?
if not, than I would guess that you cannot open a shop by yourself at all. maybe with a japanese partner...

and I also think that it would cost A LOT to buy or rent something in Tokyo, especially at a trainstation at the 山手線

Oeuf,

I don't believe there is any requirement to be a Japanese national or even be married to one to open a shop in Japan.
If you are serious, I would have thought the first place to ask would be the operating company/companies of the particular station you are interested in. In the case of Ikebukuro, that would be JR East, Tobu, Seibu, and Tokyo Metro. They should be able to direct you to the management company in charge of leasing space.
