Nice place for dinner in Shinjuku? 2009/3/8 14:45
Hi! My husband and toddler are staying in Shinjuku and would like to go to a nice dinner in Shinjuku (where we are staying) or somewhere close by. We would like to eat Kobe beef! Thank you!

The NY Bar & Grill in the Hyatt Hotel is nice. I'm sure the Hilton and other hotels also have nice restaurants.

Shinjuku area restaurant 2009/3/9 04:59
They don't serve Kobe beef but we had the most wonderful Italian dinner on the 53rd floor of Shinjuku Tokyo Opera City Building on the west side. It was called Buenavista Sabatini. On the same 53rd floor, there were many nice restaurants.

Tempura 2009/3/21 21:23
Tsunahachi is close to Mitsukoshi in Shinjuku. It serves pretty good tempura.

"Kushiage" is very good.
Why don't you try how many sticks you can finish.

Go for tempura and simple izakaya-food. 2009/3/22 05:22
As suggested by another contributor, i would go for ''Tempura Tsunahachi'' too. There is a branch very close to Shinjuku Station, in Keio Dept. store. (8th. floor)

Otherwise go for traditional and simple izakaya-food, like Izakaya ''Hananomei'' - very close to Yodobashi(camera/phonestore) -next to the west exit at Shinjuku Station.
(try the yakitori, gyoza, and chijimi)
