What should I buy as a wedding present for a Japanese couple getting married in Japan. We are from Australia.
Also is it tradition to buy the both parents a gift also? What is a nice gift idea?

I would suggest either money, as is the custom in Japan, or something that you would give a marrying couple in Australia. Either way you can't go wrong.
