Thanks Uji more questions 2004/7/9 17:38
Is it the best to buy a JR pass to travel to Kyoto from Narita airport? And is it better to stay overnight in Kyoto than in Osaka, hotel-wise?
Many thanks

Kyoto has much more to see. I'd stay 3 nights in Tokyo and 2 nights in Kyoto.

JR Rail Pass 2007/7/28 20:18
Yes a 7 day pass is a good deal and covers your journey Narita-Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka-Tokyo-Narita. You can use JR Pass for JR lines in Tokyo, but you will need further bus/subway in Kyoto. The distance ShinOsaka station to Kyoto station is 15 min by shinkansen, so prference for Kyoto only if you want to stay in a Ryokan
