I read a recommendation " not to miss viking meal while in Sapporo". I am going to sapporo in 2 weeks time, and what is " Viking meal", could anyone please help.

As far as I know, "viking" or "baikingu" is a term used in Japan to refer to "buffet style," "smorgasbord," "all-you-can-eat" type of meal.

But it's not that it's available everywhere in Sapporo - was there any particular restaurant/hotel restaurants mentioned along with that recommendation?

It's surely referring to the all you can eat grill.

You can take a tour of the beer factory and then enjoy all you can eat for 100 minutes or so.

The term "baiking", or Viking meals, for all you can eat dates back to 1958 and the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.
