Calling from USA to Ebina, Japan

Hi, I am trying to make a call to a number in Ebina, Japan. I know that I have to dial 011 + 81 (country code), but what am I doing wrong? i can't get it to work. Is there another couple digits I need to insert before the number?

Does the number you need to dial begin with a zero? If so drop the zero and dial the rest. Instructions can be found here:

Also, if you are using services such as skype then you don't need the 011 and can just start dialing with the country code (+81).
