The US dollar is so weak to the yen. I wonder if I can afford to eat at all in Japan on my trip? Lol! Just kidding but can anyone give me some idea of food costs in their cities? Or another way to put it-how much did you spend on your last restaurant meal? Thanks

You should probably mention what city you're traveling to.
In general, Japan is as cheap or expensive as you want it to be.
You can find meals for USD$3 depending on where you are.
It's important to remember that the yen is so strong only because the USD and EURO economies are worse. Domestic economic times in Japan are tough too and as such once you get here, there's plenty of deals to be found.
