I'm wondering what the going rate these days is for 'viking' breakfasts. We had them at some western style hotels a few years ago, are going again soon, and would appreciate the information.

It varies greatly on the place. But I think they are typically 1000 to 2000 yen. Over 3000 yen at some 5-star hotels.
