At lots of omatsuri's there is a big wooden thing that is pulled by lots of people and with people on the top dancing. Or sometimes they come through the neighborhood. I really like to watch and listen to these! Thanks!

I think it is Dashi. It lookes like a small wooden house and children dance on it.

Technically, the upper part is called Mikoshi and lower part is called Dashi.

山車(神輿の台輪より下側の部分)
