gluten free food 2011/2/15 08:50
Hey guys

I'm gluten intollerant - just wondering if there is access to gluten free flour, gluten free pasta/noodles etc. Would greatly appreciate the heads up before I come over to Japan.

Cheers!

difficult - best to order online 2011/2/16 12:18
They are available from specialized health food stores, but unless there happens to be one in your neighbourhood your best bet is to order online. (You'll obviously need a Japanese speaker to help you so order in bulk.)

There's also a groundbreaking home breadmaking gadget from Sanyo called "Gopan" which might come in handy - it transforms rice grains into bread. Google "gopan gluten" and decide for yourself whether you think it's worth the investment (it's new technology so still pretty pricey).
