Suggestions for iconic Melbourne gifts? 2012/3/21 18:06
I'm from Melbourne, Australia, and would love some gift ideas for both little things that I can bring a lot of to give to people I meet, and also more special gifts to give to my Japanese friends to thank them for their travel advice.

I'm trying to think of something uniquely Melbournian, but not tacky. I am also mindful of space in my luggage, breakages in transit, and I don't want to give gifts that will just end up as clutter!

Any ideas?

On a non-specifically Melbourne note, we liked to hand out Caramello Koalas, and have left clip on koalas around the place too. Maybe you could buy something tram-related? St Kilda? AFL? Luna Park? We bought a nice magnet of Flinders St station from the St Kilda markets when we were down that way last year.
