large supermarket near asakusa/ueno 2012/4/18 21:41
I'm looking for a large supermarket (like MaxValu in Osaka) near Asakusa/Ueno. I remember finding one on my last visit near Ueno station, but I cannot recall where it was exactly... I want to buy some cheap dashi, kombu, wakame, miso, matcha - this kind of stuff.

Not looking for 7/11, Lawson and so on.

Maruetsu (マルエツ)looks closest to the Ueno station. Check the map here. It is a super market you can buy what you want.

You're missing the obvious. Just go to Ameyoko. Stores there are cheaper than supermarkets generally. Check out the Niki Market and Ameyoko Center.
