Hypermarkets in Tokyo?

I need a supermarket in Tokyo that's really big and has a variety of groceries to select from.
I'm not looking for a fancy department store though, but something where you buy your everyday groceries like rice and vegetables.
In particular I'm looking for a good cereal and candy aisle.

I know of no hypermarket sized stores in the central Tokyo area (i.e. near the Yamanote line). I can point you in the direction of some medium sized supermarkets. Where exactly are you (or will you be) in Tokyo? This will help with the suggestions.

@ Kit: There's a shopping mall (LaLa Terrace) near to MinamiSenju station that has a supermarket and a Daiso store: http://g.co/maps/s8n76Also in the same area is a Santoku supermarket: http://g.co/maps/ppb86and to the west is a shopping area with an Olympic supermarket: http://g.co/maps/wdjn8Just north of this last location you can just about see the Minowabashi streetcar terminal on the map, this whole area is worth exploring for stores.

Thank you for your answer!
I'll be living in Asakusa, but I will be all over Tokyo all the time so I can shop anywhere that will be no problem.

Rickie, the links I gave were for a post to this thread that seems to hae been deleted, although they are for an area just north of Asakusa, so would be worth checking out. As for Asakusa, there is Akafudado on Asakusa Dori: http://g.co/maps/2t496There is an Akafudado supermarket south and just across the river, near the Kiyosumishirakawa subway station (exit A2) that is larger: http://g.co/maps/xqbfhThere is a large Ito Yokado supermarket just south of Kiba subway station and I think this will be the biggest supermarket that is nearest to where you will be: http://g.co/maps/z9j6sIf you want to take a trip over to Chiba, there is a huge Aeon at Makuhari, it was formerly a Carrefour Hypermarket. Located at "A" on the map (bottom left) : http://g.co/maps/cw2v7
