Nohi Bus (Matsumoto - Takayama) tickets

I would like to ask about one this. Is possible to buy a tickets for Nohi Bus from Matsumoto to Takayama at the same day as departure day? (6 hours before the bus starts) How looks avability of this the bus?

It is possible but of course the earlier you can buy them, the better. I would buy them as soon as you get in to Matsumoto.

As I am wondering what happen if hotel is booked in Takayama, & then couldn't get bus ticket?

They're open from 9 am to 6 pm.

Reservations are not required for the Matsumoto Line according to their site but better to call to confirm.

As said above, those buses use non-reserved seating, so even if you buy a ticket in advance you are not guaranteed a seat.

So, for example, I bought a ticket and they dont have at least stand places?

Long-distance (highway) buses never have standing space.

I think it does not look like that because I can lose the money. There is written that this line doesnt require earlier reservation.

I think they will not sold more tickets than places in the bus.

In that case, How Can I dont have guaranted seat if I bought ticket earlier? I think there is a pool of tickets and we dont need to book earlier because always free seat are available but We can book earlier and we have guaranted seats.

What you "think" is quite irrelevant; that's just not how it works. Buying tickets in advance is just for convenience so you don't have to pay on board the bus, or for buying special tickets such as round-trip ones.

I understand. Probably the most people on the Matsumoto Line simply buing a tickets on board the bus and I can buy tickets earlier, but it doesn't guarantee boarding to the bus because the seat are not numbered. So I just need to be at least some time earlier before boarding.

I got an official answer from Nohi Bus.

"You don't need a reservation for this bus.
Please purchase your ticket at Alpico ticket office in Matsumoto Bus
Terminal on the same day of your departure.
We don't know if you can buy the ticket at other agencies."

You have to buy tickets at Matsumoto Bus Terminal, and for Matsumoto-Takayama line, there's no reservation system: first come, first served.
I understand your concern. I myself have once used this line, and had the same anxiety as yours, so I asked directly on the phone (I'm a Japanese), and had an answer that there was no possibility of being full of passengers. They were right at that time, but, even if the possibility is low, you will still have to be prepared for waiting for the next departure.

I have another question. What are the opening hours of the ticket office at the Matsumoto Bus Station?
