@Guest25
Thanks for the reply!
Wow 18 months seems quite long, do you think in your case you have to wait more because of your nationality?
I'm from Europe and i did hear that for European it might take longerc

@ Waitingguest56
I strongly believe that.
Certain countries Nationals will experience longer waiting time.
Reasons are unknown!! Why it should be like that when someone fulfill the requirements, nobody knows and they donft answer!
I have contacted them but they said nothing can be done, we canft answer and just wait!
Even in Europe, I believe it depends which country from Europe you are coming!
A Russian said it took 2 years to get result.
But please be optimistic, If youfre lucky and your country is not in their waiting list, you will get the result within 1 year!
Good luck.

Well i dont agree with you, that its delaying because of your nationality, They might still investigating you more deeply. if you have bad record for last 5 years, be honest and dont hide anything from officer, even its negative, and try to avoid non assential travelling to abroad unless you a very strong reason, till your application is in process., and should avoid contacting officer, he will not answer positively and it will leave negative impact on your application. Good luck

@ sasaki1
Unfortunately, birth place and nationality affects judgment of people, governments in many aspects in many situations (getting visa, apply for a jobc)
Just imagine when there is a guy from middle east, and he is waiting in the visa stamp line in an airport, will he be treated like others, probably no, when it his turn there is high possibility of more investigation.
Why do you think it is different when it comes to citizenship matter? And it is a very sensitive for every government.
And some clarification about my case, My background is very fine, highest educational degree obtained here, working in a good company with stable income. And driving here with a gold licenses with no single traffic violation during 7 years. Tax and pension are paid very properly.
And I did not leave japan since I applied.
And most important thing, I did not hide anything!
At the beginning, I was thinking I would have a very fast result because everything was fine but after 1 year I came to this that there are more things which affect the applications.
Well, nothing can be done.

@pandared4341
Good luck, you have to make your mind for a long wait, because naturalization is stress full process, where you have to present yourself in Homequok many times.

Hello @trying1 guest

May I know where you apply?
I applied in Toyohashi Homukyouku we are a small town and I guess the place is not that busy comparing to other big cities like nagoya, osaka and Tokyo.

We are on the same page then?
You also hand them the paper last May then?

Best of luck to us ❤️

Re: Naturalization in 2020 2022/10/22 16:13
Update:
May 20 application was received by Legal affairs office
Interview October 21 2022 , about 5 months after finally they called me and my husband for an interview.
The interview took 2.5 hours.
He asked me the reason why I want to be JC.
I have no parents back home, both just passed away.
I have no siblings either. Ifm an only child, and no properties too. 😜
My husband and Son are in Japan. My son is a Japanese citizen.
We have a house here and our life/work are here.
My Turkish husband although is on the process of our spousal visa. So for the meantime he is just at home because he canft work due to visa.

And also, they will ask your livelihood, monthly expenses etc.

But I realize, the interview was easy.
Because they will just ask you about yourself, life and all small details.

It was long but my interviewer was really nice.
My husband took 1 hour because he canft speak Japanese and we needed to have an interpreter.
And he will visit our home by next week, because he told me it is compulsory now. It will take maybe 10 minutes.

And lastly, he told me that Ifm still in the process, maybe they need me and my husband for another interview again or they will call me for another paper.

☺️

Whatever the result is.
I know I did my best, I was honest with all my answers and will cooperate to them when they need something from us.
