A voltage converter may cost several thousand yen, and the one for foreign appliances may be a bit difficult to find.
If your purpose is only Nintendo DS Lite, consider buying a Nintendo DS Lite AC adapter sold in Japan. It's cheaper (about 1300-1500 yen) and much easier to find.
