Red or Green?

Hi, I visited Japan last year & yeah I saw the 2 different coloured signs.... Don't quite get it, when someone said the red sign has the ordinary menu... What does that mean? & what's so special about the MOS with the green sign? & yeah, I love MOS burger in Singapore... Though it's costly & comes in small portions, it's yummy.... Unfortunately there is less variety in the burgers that MOS sells in Singapore... Those in Japan sound great & yummy... MOS certainly beats Macs in terms of creativity :)

MOS in Hawaii
|

I believe there are MOS burger outlets in Hawaii, Taiwan and Singapore
Sorry to disappoint you, but the last MOS Burger outlet in Hawaii closed for good this summer. At one time, quite a few years ago, they even had a store in Southern California, but just couldn't make a go of it.
It's really too bad since personally I love some, but not all, of the MOS burgers. The Takumi burgers are absolutely awesome, but overpriced at 1,000 yen. Their ebi burger is great, and their onion rings are the best.

I am a foreign student studying at Doshisha University in Kyoto, and the nearby Mos Burger is very popular with my classmates, so a lot of Americans do like it a lot.

Mos Burger is good

I'm not going to boast... well yes I am. I was raised in Southern california, where the best FAST FOOD burgers in the world come from (in my opinion, and I've had a lot) In n Out and Tommies in the LA area are the best FAST FOOD burgers ever.
Mos burger is good. It's a little different but I think it's solid and would be successful in America (ehh, maybe, i don't know). It's not the best I've ever had but i like it better than McDonalds.
All you people complaining that Mos Burger is too messy... what are you talking about? In my opinion, one of the most important factors in judgeing a burger is it's mess factor, if it's not messy, it's not good. Take Tommie Burgers for example, messiest buger ever, you can dip all your fries in all the stuff that comes out. But one of the best burgers ever.
That's my opinion, so there.

Sloppy Burgers

Thats right, Americans like sloppy burgers so much that Carls Jr. dedicated a whole series of commercials claiming to have the sloppiest burgers around. They made dripping burgers hip.

It's true you can seldom see forigners in MOS and mos burger isn't "fast" food. I think it's just because MOS makes their burgers to fit Japanese people's taste, not american taste. Some(or many?) people who are accustomed to american taste(Mcdonalds) don't like Mos taste. Personally, I like Freshness Burger better.
It's funny to see people discussing about burger hotly like this. Same as "I like burger king". Burger is a symbolic food of US ? like Sushi or Natto in Japan.
Gryphon, it's obvious that Azumi has a grudge against Mos. He said too much.

In n Out is the best. Mos burger is not far behind. The key is to eat your burger over the fries to let the fries soak up anything that drips from the burger.
I wonder what a burger would taste like if it was cooked over Binchotan charcoal used with making yakitori?

Wow! you really love Mos burger. (^-^;) so as my girl friends. Mos is the only fast food place they would go in so willingly. they seem to enjoy their food and the atmosphere.
but personally, I never cared for Mos. I just don't like the taste. =/ I preffer Burger King much better. I want my burger bigger with more meat in it.(*^-^*)

I never thought this theme is discussed so long.
Thank you.
Hi Kana, I agree with you. I like Berger King better than any other fast food except for Mos. Actually, I don't think Mos is fast food... Because they are not fast. Whenever I go to NZ, I have Berger King.
Someone talked about "Kiua 'Aina..." I liked the poteto fries very much before but now it's too oily to eat them...
Well, my first question was why I don't see foreign people in Mos. But now I knew many people like it and go there. Sounds good!

MOS BURGER is good, not great!

When it comes to burgers, you guys got to trust the biggest burger fan - ME! :)
I have tried most of the low end or high end burgers on the MOS burger menu in the GREEN SHOP (the Red shop is lower end, drinks aren't as nice either, but most red shop burgers are also served in green shop).
Well I can honestly say that the TAKUMI series burgers (including the 1000Yen Judan) DOES NOT live up to the hype that its president tried to push....
The vegetables like lettuce, onions, or the avocado with wasabi, etc,.. are really good mind you, you'll not get these better in any other burger in the world.
The PROBLEM - is the meat is tasteless, ultra-tiny, the whole burger is missing its soul.
The bread is lovely too, but not very flavoursome either even for someone with a sensitive palate like me, again something is amiss.
The same problem occurs across the board all the way to the lower end burgers, no matter how good the sauce is.
I just cannot enjoy the burgers as much as I SHOULD when I eat at MOS burger, even though they are pretty good already it just wont cut it for me due to the small meat, small size, lack of that good, appetising burger smell, etc,..
Just a side note - I dont really like WAGYU BEEF Burgers either that are really expensive in Japan to eat in restaurants. There is not enough beef meat taste, but the pattie is really soft and has the wagyu fat taste. I highly enjoy Wagyu/Kobe equivalent beef when eaten as a steak/yakiniku though!

MOS Burger AND In-n-Out Rule!

Have you all checked Flickr.com site to see 100+ photos tagged with "MOS Burger"? My favorite is this mouth-watering photo of this Rice Burger (in Taipei) http://www.flickr.com/photos/yusheng/30321329/ Last time I went back to Japan, these burgers using beef were not available due to the U.S. beef import ban. The ban is to be lifted in a week; I will definitely hit MOS Burger again when I go back to Japan! Meanwhile, I enjoy In-n-Out burgers here in Southern California. (Did you know MOS stood for Mountain, Ocean and Sun?)

I am a foreigner and I ate in a MOS Burger once, in a small town near Osorezan. I'm a vegetarian so I can't comment on the burger per se, but the fries were great.
