Seaside Onsen with Views of Mt. Fuji across the Bay
Situated along the western coast of the Izu Peninsula, Heda Onsen is a hidden hot spring area in the southwestern part of Numazu, beloved by those in the know. It is most famous for baths offering gorgeous views of the sun setting over Suruga Bay and, on clear days, Mt. Fuji across the sea. Thanks to its location right by Suruga Bay, Heda Onsen is also known for its fresh seafood, especially spider crab, the largest species of crab in the world, and other delicious deepwater delicacies.

For overnight stays, a variety of accommodation options are available, from larger hotels and Japanese-style inns, to more cozy guesthouses. For day trips, a great option is to visit Roadside Station Kurura Heda, a facility with a day-use onsen, free public footbaths and exhibits showcasing local sightseeing spots, culture and history.
